Dents & scratches

Repairing dents & derusting

Carefully repair any dents and then clean the spot of damage thoroughly. Remove rust with Auto-K dry paper, grain P80 or P120, until the base is metallically clean.

Filling

Remove any other areas of unevenness and recesses with Auto-K filler. Apply the filler as thinly as possible with the filler spatula.

Sanding

Sand and smooth the hardened filler mass (drying time approx. 20-30 min.) using Auto-K dry paper, grain P120 or P180. Remove any residual sanding dust with a soft cloth.

Apply anti-corrosion primer

Prime the bare metallic, dust and grease-free spot of damage with Auto-K anti- corrosion primer. Caution: Before applying the primer, shake the can thoroughly for at least 2min.

Smooth filling

Even out small areas of unevenness with Auto-K combined filler. Apply the filler as thinly as possible with the filler spatula. If there are only fine sanding grooves left, use Auto-K spray filler to achieve a smooth surface.

Wet sanding

Lightly sand the hardened filler mass (drying time approx. 20-30 min) with the dampened 400 or 600 Auto-K wet paper. Remove any sanding dust with a soft cloth.

Spray on wash primer

Spray on several thick cross-coats of Auto-K filler/wash primer. The last pores are closed. The Auto-K filler/wash primer ensures a smooth base and guarantees an even top coat.

Final wet sanding

Lightly sand the wash primer after it has dried using Auto-K wet paper P 400 or P 600. Fine dust particles need to be removed. Allow the repair point to dry well.
